ergeant David Robert Singleton, United States Army (Retired) proudly served The United States of America in Italy during WWII (1945-1947)in the 2621st Graves Registration Unit as Medic as well as in the capacity of Mess Sgt. and Mail Clerk.

Although born in Pitt County, Robert moved to Kinston in 1933 with his Mother, Mamie Heath Singleton, and his nine siblings following the death of his Father, David Singleton. He married Sandra Magnanti in 1946 in Italy and brought his war bride to Kinston, N. C. in 1947. Married 62 years December 7, 2008, they have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
