Specialist 5th Class, Ronald William Pridgen was born December 6, 1948 in Snow Hill, Greene County, North Carolina. He graduated from Greene Central High School in Snow Hill, North Carolina, in 1967. He served in the Army from March 1969 until November 1971. During this time, he was on active duty in Vietnam from September 1969 until September 1970, where he was an acting squad leader. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device, National Defense Service Medal and Code of Conduct Medal.
