Lance Corporal Roland C. Jack was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. In August 1966, He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He received his basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot located at San Diego, California. He arrived in Vietnam in September 1967 and was assigned to Company H, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. There he served a Infantryman in Quang Tri Provence for 395 days.
He returned to the United States in September 1968 and was assigned to Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. There he served as a mentor to over 1500 junior Non-Commissioned Officers. He retired from active duty in 1986 after 21 years of service to his county.
Roland Jack now lives at La Grange, North Carolina. He is very active in several veteran organizations. He served as President of Chapter 892 Vietnam Veterans of America for a couple of years.
