CPL Alex Ray Houston entered the US Army from Pink Hill, North Carolina. He served with Company A, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam from August 13, 1967 until he was killed on October 25, 1967 at Binh Duong Province, South Vietnam. He was killed by small arms fire. His name is located at panel 28E, line 68 of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C.

His awards include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Purple Heart Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
