SSGT Woodrow Wilson Ham, Jr. entered the US Army from Kinston, North Carolina. He arrived in Vietnam on July 29, 1965. He served with Company B, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division from July 29, 1965 until he was killed on March 4, 1966. SSGT Ham was killed by small arms fire at Phu Yen Province, South Vietnam. His name is located at panel 05E, line 1103 of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C.

His awards include the Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star with “V” for Valor, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal Medal.
